Repeating Crossbow 2

This is a hand carved custom repeating crossbow I made for a LARP event I participate in. It was designed to fire nerf darts but the magazine was rushed and the bow itself underpowered so unfortunately it only worked well when loaded with crayons (don't try that at home). You will see in some pictures that the whole thing is held together with brass pins (and yes 2 bolts) and if needed can be field stripped by pulling certain pins. I also inserted a pin in each eye socket on the skull and polished the ends so they catch the sun light and almost appear to glow in the shadows.

In a future rebuild I plan to replace the bow arms and string with parts "borrowed" from a more modern wooden short bow. I also plan on redesigning the magazine to accommodate removable spring loaded magazines.

The LARP event runners said I could do whatever I want as long as I made it by hand using period materials and tools. They had no idea what I am capable of and they let it fly because they like that the darts come out of the skulls mouth.
